Louisville, Mammoth Cave, Bourbon Country, Lexington and the Appalachian Foothills
Discover the landscapes, traditions and scenic roads of Kentucky on this circular journey from Louisville.
Begin with a night in Kentucky’s largest city before driving south to Mammoth Cave National Park, home to the longest known cave system in the world.
Continue into Kentucky’s famous bourbon country and spend a night in historic Bardstown. Distillery tours can be added, but the region also offers beautiful countryside, traditional small towns and fascinating history for customers who are not interested in whiskey.
Two nights in Lexington provide time to explore the rolling fields, stone fences and celebrated horse farms of Bluegrass Country. From Lexington, drive east into the Appalachian foothills and discover the natural arches, cliffs and forested roads of Red River Gorge.
Your final night is near Cumberland Falls, where the Cumberland River plunges through a wooded gorge. Return to Louisville the following day to complete this memorable Kentucky circuit.
